Admission Process

  • All the admissions are subject to the approval of the University of Mysore.
  • St. Joseph’s College of Education is a co-educational college with minority status. The college offers instructions in both English and Kannada. Total intake is 100 of which 50 are government seats and 50 are management seats respectively. The Central Admission Cell of the State under the Commissioner of  Public Instruction shall monitor the admission to the Government Seat Quota.
  • The admission for management seat shall be made on merit, based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination, if any, or any other selection process as per the policy of the Central Government/State Government/ University Admission from time to time.
  • The application form must be filled by the candidate and submitted to the college office along with the attested copies of the following documents
    – Mark sheets of the Degree examination Degree certificate of the degree examination
    – For a Postgraduate, copy of post-graduation mark sheet and degree certificate
    Higher Secondary Certificate

    – SSLC certificate

– Candidates belonging to SC/ST/ OBC should produce a permanent community certificate. In the case of OBC, recent certificates as per government norms are to be        produced.

– Income certificate – Aadhaar Card

  • The application form must be filled by the candidate and submitted to the college office along with attested copies of the following documents mark sheets of the degree examination, Degree certificate of the degree examination for a Postgraduate, copy of post-graduation mark sheet and degree certificate, Higher Secondary Certificate, SSLC certificate. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/ OBC should produce a permanent community certificate. In the case of OBC, recent certificates as per government norms are to be produced. Income certificate Aadhaar Card.
  • Selected candidates will be intimated the date within which fees have to be paid together with original certificates. Failure to produce the certificates in original within the specified period and if the selected candidates do not join the course on the reopening date will result in forfeiting the seat.
  • Recently taken eight passport size and three stamp size photographs with blue background should be submitted during the admission.
  • The candidate has to be present at the time of admission and get the original certificates scrutinized by the relevant authorities. Originals will be returned after verification by the University.
  • If the original mark sheets are found to be bogus at any point of time, the authorities reserve the right to cancel the admission and take criminal action against the candidate as per the rule.
  • The eligible SC/ST, OBC/ Differently abled/ Minority students can apply for available scholarships according to the government rules.

Eligibility

  • Candidates with at least 50% marks from a recognized university either in Bachelor’s Degree or the Master’s Degree in Science/Social Science/Humanity/Commerce/ Management

OR

  • Bachelors in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55 % marks

OR

  • Any other qualification equivalent there to (As Prescribed by NCTE and UGC and State Government) SC/ST/OBC/PWD/371(J) and any other categories/type shall be as per the rules of the Central Government/State Government
