DEPARTMENT

Language Education: ENGLISH

In the English Language Education class, teachers are truly shaped through a range of activities centered around the motto “excellence through innovations and hard work.” The department’s catchphrase is English via current events, English through the arts and culture, English through sports, English through festivals, English through humor and pleasure, English through everything and everything. To develop literary, pedagogic, histrionic, publicational, and recording potentials, pedago-literary meetings are held on a regular basis on pertinent literary and social topics.

MATHEMATICS EDUCATION

Effective mathematics teaching requires a deep understanding of the subject as well as the ability to communicate concepts in an engaging and comprehensible manner. To foster these competencies, student-teachers undergo a structured training program designed to strengthen both their mathematical knowledge and pedagogical skills. This rigorous preparation enables them to develop confidence in presenting concepts with clarity, thereby enhancing learners’ understanding and interest in mathematics.

SCIENCE EDUCATION

Science Education aims to prepare competent teachers with strong scientific knowledge, creative abilities, naturalistic intelligence, and a positive outlook to meet the evolving needs of society. Through diverse and multidimensional learning activities, instructional packages, and pedagogical processes, student-teachers are trained to cultivate scientific understanding, critical thinking, and creativity. The program emphasizes the development of knowledge, skills, attitudes, and innovation, enabling future teachers to become effective, resourceful, and socially responsible contributors.

Chemistry Education

The Chemistry Education prepares aspiring educators to effectively teach the complexities of chemistry with clarity and enthusiasm. The program blends rigorous theoretical learning with practical laboratory experiments, helping student-teachers master key concepts such as chemical reactions, atomic structure, and material properties. By focusing on inquiry-based learning, problem-solving, and safety protocols, our students are trained to deliver chemistry lessons that not only enhance scientific literacy but also encourage creativity and critical thinking. Our goal is to produce confident, innovative teachers who can foster a deeper understanding of chemistry, its relevance in everyday life, and its role in shaping a sustainable future.

Biological Science Education

The Biology Education program at our college is designed to equip future teachers with a deep understanding of life sciences, nurturing a passion for biology and its teaching. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical lab work, student-teachers gain a strong foundation in cellular biology, ecology, genetics, and environmental science. Emphasis is placed on developing critical thinking, scientific reasoning, and an appreciation for the interconnectedness of all living systems. Our program fosters the development of creative, resourceful, and responsible educators who will inspire the next generation to explore the wonders of the natural world, promote sustainability, and adopt scientific methods in solving real-world challenges.

Physical Science Education

Physical Science Education is committed to preparing the next generation of science teachers with a focus on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) outlined by the United Nations, in alignment with the aims and objectives of science teaching as prescribed by the National Curriculum Framework (NCF). To strengthen the curriculum transaction process, the program has developed its own Curricular Transaction Design that addresses key issues in science learning. This is operationalized through classroom-based research projects, interactive conferences, observance of scientific days, extension activities, and collaborative initiatives. These endeavours have resulted in valuable curricular outcomes, including faculty and student-teacher research contributions, the development of innovative learning resources, and reforms in lesson planning.

SOCIAL SCIENCE EDUCATION

Social Science Education engages learners in a continuous dialogue between the past and the present, fostering critical analysis to envision and shape a better future. The primary aim of teaching social science is to cultivate patriotism, creativity, and essential human values among student-teachers. To achieve this, the program organizes a variety of academic and co-curricular activities such as seminars, workshops, wall magazines, and documentation of social issues, thereby promoting value formation, critical thinking, and the development of relevant professional skills.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Physical Education is educating life itself. It’s a process of educating one’s body and mind for a lifetime. It is therefore disciplining oneself in totality. In Teacher Education Institutions we shape the candidates to be the best teachers. In the aspect of shaping what comes first is discipline. Physical education absolutely does this perfectly. So there can be no academic training without training oneself in body and mind. It’s an inevitable aspect of B.Ed curriculum. Physical Education lays a foundation for all the other learnings. For the successful building up of an all round personality or to create a successful teacher Physical education plays a significant role. The purpose of the education can be fulfilled by creating successful character based quality citizens who would be regarded as the asset and resources of the country and the world at large. The main objective of Physical Education itself is this building character which is certainly explored maximum in TEIs.
