ARCHIVES CLUB (Social Science)
The Social Science Club serves as a dynamic platform for student-teachers to transcend the boundaries of traditional textbooks. In the context of a B.Ed. curriculum, Social Science is not merely a subject to be taught, but a tool for social transformation. Our club is dedicated to fostering a deep understanding of the intricate tapestry of human society—spanning its history, geography, and political structures. By integrating academic rigor with practical social engagement, we aim to produce educators who are not only subject-matter experts but also empathetic, socially-conscious citizens.
Objectives
1. To help student-teachers understand social, political, economic, and cultural issues of society.
2. To inculcate values such as equality, justice, freedom, secularism, and respect for diversity.
3. To provide opportunities for B.Ed. trainees to practice innovative methods of teaching Social Science.
4.To enable students to analyze social problems, historical events, and current affairs logically.
5. To train student-teachers to become responsible citizens and future leaders.
6. To connect classroom learning with real-life social situations through activities like surveys, field visits, and projects.
7. To make learning History, Geography, Civics, and Economics interesting and meaningful.

ECO CLUB
An Eco Club at St. Joseph’s College of Education is a student–teacher initiative aimed at promoting environmental awareness, conservation, and sustainable living. It provides a platform for future teachers to understand environmental issues and actively participate in protecting and improving the natural environment. The club functions as a link between environmental education and practical action.
The Eco Club helps student-teachers develop eco-friendly attitudes, values, and skills that can be carried into their future classrooms. Through activities such as tree plantation, waste management, cleanliness drives, nature walks, water and energy conservation programmes, students learn by doing and develop a sense of responsibility towards nature.
Objectives
- To create Environmental awareness among student-teachers about current environmental issues and sustainable practices.
- To develop eco-friendly attitudes and values such as conservation, responsibility and respect for nature.
- To encourage practical involvement of students in environmental protection activities like tree plantation, waste management, and cleanliness drives.

English Literary Club – Literaria
The English Literary Club *LITERARIA* of St. Joseph’s College of Education is established to foster a love for the English language and literature among teacher trainees. It serves as a dynamic platform for enhancing linguistic proficiency, creative expression, and critical thinking—key attributes of effective teachers.
The club aims to improve listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills through enjoyable and informal activities, building confidence in communication. It also promotes appreciation of English literature by introducing students to poetry, drama, prose, and fiction, encouraging critical and aesthetic understanding.
Through creative writing, debates, dramatization, storytelling, recitation, and literary quizzes, LITERARIA nurtures creativity, teamwork, leadership, and stage confidence. Additionally, it supports professional growth by integrating language skills with pedagogical practices, enabling trainees to strengthen their teaching competencies.
An important objective of the club is to support the professional development of prospective teachers by integrating language skills with pedagogical practices. Math π-rates Club

The Math π-rates Club of St. Joseph’s College of Education aims to foster interest, curiosity, and confidence in Mathematics among teacher trainees. It strengthens conceptual understanding, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills while promoting a positive and engaging attitude towards Mathematics as an essential teaching discipline.
The club enhances mathematical competence through puzzles, games, quizzes, concept mapping, and activity-based learning, helping to reduce mathematics anxiety and improve analytical thinking. It also integrates creativity and technology by encouraging the use of digital tools, innovative teaching strategies, and hands-on activities that connect abstract concepts with real-life applications.
Additionally, the Math π-rates Club supports the academic and professional development of future Mathematics teachers through lesson planning, reflective practices, peer learning, and research-oriented activities, preparing them to become competent, creative, and value-driven educators.
